Being with God in Nature
Walking Meditation - Cultivating Awe
Tap into a deeper sense of purpose and wellbeing, join us for a ‘Walking Meditation – Cultivating Awe’.
Pope Francis, in his encyclical Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home, invokes the mystical experience of being struck by the awe and wonders of nature: “The mystic experiences the intimate connection between God and all beings, and thus feels that ‘all things are God.’
This human capacity for ‘awe,’ the philosopher Protagoras believed, is our defining strength, the heart of creativity, discovery, purpose and health.Science has also recognised benefits of awe, citing brief experiences of awe such as standing amidst tall trees, leads people to be more altruistic, less entitled, humbler and less stressed by daily life.
Walk with us through the bushland in contemplative silence, to experience the ‘awe and wonder’ of listening to the Presence that is God in Nature.
